On April 7th dirt began flying
in IWC's backyard to mark the start of a 39, 000 square-foot warehouse
expansion that will more than double the company's shelved-goods inventory
capacity.
Since moving to
the firm's present location in January 1995, steady sales growth fueled
expansion of inventory depth and breadth. In a little over 36 months,
what was thought at the time to be ample room for expansion was absorbed.
During
the last six months of 1999 it became apparent that expansion was necessary.
Shelves had become so densely packed with material that stocking and
picking were taking much longer to get the job done and if not corrected
would soon become a real choke point with adverse effects in overall
operations.
Early this year
the decision was made to expand. In less than 90 days financing was
arranged, plans drawn, contractors hired and dirt began to fly on April
7th.
Completion and occupancy
is expected no later than August 31st, and shortly after IWC expects
to be announcing a major inventory addition to our product lines. Check
back after September 1st for details.

Well, maybe that is a slight exaggeration. But there are lots of nifty
new features on our recently expanded and upgraded Website that will
help you take the drudgery out of those wire procurement chores.
